The 2022 season at Raceway Venray is in the books and the track championships in Stockcar F1, Stockcar F2 and F2 Juniors have been decided

The 2022 season at the Raceway came to an end on October 23. This also means that the championship decisions have been made in Stockcar F1, Stockcar F2 and in the F2 Juniors. While the Brit Luke Davidson came out on top in the premier class, Wim Peeters Jr. was victorious in Stockcar F2, while local hero Ric Maessen impressed in the junior class in his first season.

In Stockcar F1, it was the year of Davidson from Great Britain. The Dutch champion of the 2021 season collected a total of 483 points on the Autospeedway oval on the German-Dutch border, clearly winning the track championship ahead of Wim Peeters, who has stepped up into the top class of stock car racing on the short tracks.

Third place went to Worldcup winner Danny van Wamelen, who was 140 points short of the champion. Wesley Schaap finished fourth, but the Dutchman had his eye on the big picture. Schaap won the cross-circuit Tarmac series, which is held at both Raceway Venray and the Midland Circuit Lelystad. Rounding out the top-5 was Patrick Kleijsen.

Peeters reeled off a double program in the 2022 season and competed again in his parade discipline – Stockcar F2. The Dutchman won the track championship by just 18 points over Kay Lenssen and also claimed victory in the Worldcup in August. Third place went to Chris Weyenberg, who beat Chris Hendriks and Gerrit Huussen in the battle for the podium.

Maessen secured victory in the F2 Juniors, the junior stock car class at Raceway Venray, with a 15-point lead. Second place went to German Nico Klumpen, who drove a strong season. Behind him, Jorden Vowinkel rounded out the podium, while Wessel Drost and Wout Hoffmans completed the top-5. Nico Storb from Gelsenkirchen finished seventh after a season of ups and downs.
