Race Art Technology and Giorgio Maggi will compete together in the 2022 NWES season – The Swiss will be chasing points in EuroNASCAR PRO

Team Race Art Technology and Giorgio Maggi have joined forces for the 2022 NASCAR Whelen Euro Series (NWES), forming a small “Swiss national team.” Maggi will take the wheel of the #18 Toyota Camry.

The EuroNASCAR 2 runner-up in the 2019 season wants to fight for race wins in the EuroNASCAR PRO category and reach for the championship crown. For Maggi, it will be his third season in the EuroNASCAR top tier after just two years with Hendriks Motorsport.

Maggi has a lot of experience

Maggi is no stranger to the NWES: in 2021, the 24-year-old from Hergiswil scored three victories in the Junior Trophy, the classification for drivers 25 and under, and finished a respectable seventh overall. In the EuroNASCAR PRO standings, he has three top-5 and ten top-10 results to his name. He is looking to finally become a potential title contender in the 2022 season.

“I’m looking forward to starting the 2022 EuroNASCAR season with Race Art Technology and competing for the title,” Maggi says. “I think our chances are very good because we are highly motivated from all sides and have a professional team. With my experience and that of the team, we will complement each other well and be a real contender for the EuroNASCAR title. Also, I’m excited to start with a Swiss team and have the opportunity to offer more EuroNASCAR action in Switzerland and work closer with my great sponsors.”

Race Art Technology set for title battle

European NASCAR is not new territory for Team Race Art Technology either, as the racing team has fielded cars in the championship in the past as well as supported other teams. With Academy Motorsports, Race Art Technology scored a one-two finish in the EuroNASCAR PRO category at the 2021 Vallelunga finale.

“We are happy about this new partnership!,” says the team. “Giorgio is a young driver with great potential, and we will do our best to provide him with a top NASCAR car and a competent team where he can grow and achieve his greatest goals. So we hope that the synergy between the Swiss team and the Swiss driver will bring a lot of joy to both of them, and we will work hard to achieve our goals.”

The 2022 NWES season will kick off at Spain’s Circuit Ricardo Tormo on May 14 and 15, 2022. Both qualifying and all races will be broadcast live on the Facebook profile of Leadlap.de / Leadlap.net.
