Sebastiaan Bleekemolen secures his maiden EuroNASCAR win

Sebastiaan Bleekemolen won the EuroNASCAR PRO race at the Autodrom Most on Saturday – It was his maiden NASCAR win
The first Saturday race of the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series (NWES) at the Autodrom Most once again showed how close joy and sorrow are in motorsport. While pole sitter Alon Day only finished fourth after an accident shortly after the start, Sebastiaan Bleekemolen drove into Victory Lane and celebrated his maiden NASCAR win.
For the Dutchman, it was his first victory in EuroNASCAR PRO, Bleekemolen had started from fourth position. “It was an incredible race, it was a bit easy to defend after I was in front at the start,” Bleekemolen says in Victory Lane. “I was a bit lucky, but I was able to stay out of the chaos and control the race. Alexander was really fast, but I think we were the faster car of the two on track, so I’m really happy!”
The Team Bleekemolen driver benefited from being one of a handful of drivers to survive the starting chaos unscathed. He then engaged in a lap-long duel with Alexander Graff, who already celebrated his maiden NASCAR win at Brands Hatch. But Bleekemolen defended his victory right to the end – two safety car phases did nothing to change that. This makes him the fifth winner of the season.

Despite the early crash with Martin Doubek – in which Niccolo Rocca and Giorgio Maggi were also involved – Day was able to join the fight for the podium places. In the end, the Israeli lost out in a duel with Gianmarco Ercoli and finished fourth. The top-5 was completed by EuroNASCAR returnee Yann Zimmer.
Victory in the Challenger Trophy was secured by Max Lanza, who finished the race in sixth place. In the Junior Trophy, Aliyyah Koloc took the top spot on the podium.
