Racingfuel Motorsport relies on Christopher Lenz in EuroNASCAR debut year

Racingfuel Motorsport will compete in the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series for the first time in the 2022 season – With Christopher Lenz, the team has signed an experienced driver
The grid of the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series (NWES) continues to take shape. With Christopher Lenz, the new Racingfuel Motorsport team has announced its first driver for the new adventure in Europe’s official NASCAR championship. The 42-year-old Swiss will compete in the EuroNASCAR PRO category.
Like for his team, the NWES is also new territory for Lenz. Nevertheless, it should be easy for him to settle into the series, as the 42-year-old brings a fair amount of motorsport experience with him. In addition to several starts in TCR touring cars and the Lamborghini Super Trofeo as well as the Porsche Cup, the Swiss has also driven a wide variety of GT3 cars.
“At the moment, the challenge is to learn all about the characteristics of a NASCAR car,” he says. “It’s important to gain a lot of track time to get the maximum out of the car. I’m really looking forward to the season and this new environment.”
His team is also already working towards a successful season: “We did our first test in Germany and had our international mechanics working on the car for the first time. We are all passionate about the project and giving our best. We want to be competitive right from the start and battle for top positions in a highly-competitive 37-car grid.”
The experience Lenz has gained in a wide variety of cars should also help. The season opener on May 14 and 15 at the Circuit Ricardo Tormo in Valencia, Spain, will show whether the plan is working. Qualifying and all races will be broadcast live on the EuroNASCAR platforms – YouTube, Facebook, Twitch – and Motorsport.tv.
