“Racer at heart”: Myatt Snider has big NASCAR Xfinity plans for 2020

Myatt Snider wants to leave a mark in the 2020 American NASCAR Series – But coming back to Europe is still on his list
US racer Myatt Snider has made quite an impact on his NASCAR Whelen Euro Series (NWES) debut in 2019, scoring two pole positions and eight top-10 results, including two second place finishes. In 2020, the Charlotte-based American will return to his roots in the US.
Back in November, Snider announced that he would be racing part-time in the 2020 NASCAR Xfinity Series (NXS) season aboard Richard Childress Racing’s #21 car. Now Snider has also announced that he will take to the wheel of the #93 car with RSS Racing in further races, which means that his racing schedule now includes around 20 races.
The NWES as perfect training ground
“It’s hard to put into words how exciting this year is going to be,” said the 25-year-old. “Going back and forth between the teams means it is going to be a huge learning experience. It’s great way to run my first NXS season.”

A special treat for Snider is the chance to race on all five road courses on the calendar, thanks to his additional deal with RSS Racing: “Competing in the NWES last year really helped me prepare for this. I raced at many prestigious road courses like Brands Hatch, Hockenheim and Valencia. I really feel well prepared and my lifelong dream of racing at Watkins Glen will come to fruition,” explains the enthusiastic American.
Potential guest entry in the NWES 2020
With all the commitments on the other side of the Atlantic, fans of the NWES are wondering if they will see the popular US-American back in Europe in 2020. When asked by ‘Leadlap.net’, Snider did not rule out a return: “I do feel that I have found new fans in Europe with my ‘Yankee style of driving’. If I can make it work, I would love to venture back.”
“We will see if there is a chance for a guest appearance this year. The new circuit in Rome [Vallelunga] looks particularly interesting. But mostly I would love to get that oval win at Venray that I missed out on last year,” Snider states about his comeback chances in the NWES.
“Snider is a rare breed of racers these days”
Sauce-Boi, his nickname in the US due to a former sponsor, has found new fans not only among spectators in the EuroNASCAR. Alfonso de Orleans-Borbon, Snider’s team boss at Racing Engineering, showered his former protégé with praise: “It was so interesting to work with Myatt,” the team boss told ‘Leadlap.net’.

“He is extremely fast, has a very good understanding of the car and is a racer at heart. Myatt is also a good team player, he is always there for anything the team needs. He is a rare breed of racers these days. After 30 years in racing, I don’t say this every day.”
The season opener of the NASCAR Xfinity Series will take place on 15th February 2020 at the legendary Daytona International Speedway. Snider will race the #21 Richard Childress Racing Chevrolet Camaro.
