Coronavirus impedes first oval races at Racepark Meppen – All races have been cancelled

As a result of the coronavirus crisis, Racepark Meppen (Lower Saxony) has now declared that the planned Autospeedway event on May 9-10 cannot take place. An alternative date for what would have been the first big racing spectacle in Meppen has not been communicated yet.

On the circuit, which opened in 2016, a variety of racing series were supposed to excite the fans during the event in May. The small oval track with a length of about 400 metres was planned to host Stockcar F1, Stockcar F2, Stockcar F2 Juniors and National Hotrods. The large oval, with a length of almost 1000 metres, was intended to host a show race of the V8 Oval Series as well as championship races of the new Formula BRL V6.

Drivers and fans alike will now hope for a substitute date to be found. Hopefully still this year, the first oval races at Racepark Meppen will then captivate the fans.
