The NWES will not be racing at the Hockenheimring in Germany in 2020 – But a double header is planned in Valencia, Spain

Bad news for all NASCAR fans in Germany: The race of the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series (NWES) at the Hockenheimring on October 17-18 was cancelled due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Instead, the season finale at the Circuit Ricardo Tormo in Valencia, Spain, will be a double header event with four days of racing.

The NWES will start into the new season on September 12-13 in Vallelunga, Italy. The official European NASCAR series will then visit Circuit Zolder in Belgium. The races are scheduled for October 3-4. Since the races in Germany are cancelled on October 17-18, the next stop will be the Autodrom Most in the Czech Republic (November 14-15).

The season finale will be significantly upgraded due to the cancellation from Hockenheim. On four consecutive days the new champions are to be found under the sun of Spain. The Grand Prix of Valencia will take place on December 3-4. The final rounds, in which double points will be awarded, will follow on December 5-6 – also at the Circuit Ricardo Tormo in Valencia.

But there is good news for all EuroNASCAR fans in Germany: the NWES race weekend will be back on the schedule in 2021. NWES president Jerome Galpin promised an “even bigger and better” event in the 2021 season, and the Hockenheimring has already made a clear commitment to the American Fan Fest next year.
