NWES in Zolder: Arianna Casoli scores best result of her EuroNASCAR career
With a fifth place, Arianna Casoli celebrated the best result of her EuroNASCAR career at the NWES race at Circuit Zolder – She also won the Legend and Lady Trophy
Arianna Casoli had tears in her eyes after the second race of the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series (NWES) at Circuit Zolder. In a chaotic race, the Italian scored the best NWES result of her career with a fifth place. She also won both the Legend and Lady Trophy in her 51st EuroNASCAR 2 start.
Previously, her best result had been a tenth place in Franciacorta in 2017. The long-time CAAL racing driver stayed out of trouble, benefited from many crashes ahead of her and finished fifth in her Chevrolet Camaro, which had not a single scratch.
“It’s the best feeling ever,” said Casoli in an interview with ‘EuroNASCAR’. “I can’t believe I was so far ahead. I had a good restart and defended my position. I also managed to stay out of the chaos in front of me. It was so great.”
The Italian has a special relationship with the Belgian track, on which Casoli has driven ten races so far. “I love this track,” said the Italian. “It was a difficult weekend overall because it rained first, then the sun came out and then it rained again. I have no words for it!”
In the overall standings Casoli is in sixth place after the fourth round of the 2020 NWES season behind Vittorio Ghirelli, Tobias Dauenhauer, Alessandro Brigatti, Vladimiros Tziortzis and Guillaume Dumarey. Behind her, Nicholas Risitano, Eric Quintal, Julia Landauer and Andreas Jochimsen complete the top 10.
The next EuroNASCAR race weekend will take place on November 14-15 at Autodrom Most in the Czech Republic. Casoli has the goal to strengthen her position within the EuroNASCAR 2 top 10.
