NWES driver Alberto Panebianco: Have to work on my mindset

Alberto Panebianco plans to compete in the EuroNASCAR 2 championship again in 2022 with Not Only Motorsport – During the winter, the Italian wants to work on his mental strength
“The plan is to compete again in the EuroNASCAR 2 championship,” Alberto Panebianco told ‘Leadlap.net’. The Italian won the Rookie Trophy with Not Only Motorsport in 2021 and plans to return to the series with the Italian team. During the winter, the 25-year-old aspiring automotive engineer is preparing for the new season. In particular, he puts his mental strength at the forefront of his season planning.
“I definitely need to work on my mindset,” said the Italian from Venaria Reale. “In fact, I believe that I am my own biggest opponent. There have been times when I have not been able to perform at my best level. That is therefore the area I will be working on this winter. On top of that, there’s a lot of sim racing and also physical training.”
“I’m just trying to be the best version of myself every day,” Panebianco continued. The 25-year-old doesn’t go into deep detail about how he plans to work on his mindset and mental strength, but he does offer some insight into his preparation for the 2021 NASCAR Whelen Euro Series (NWES): “I’m reading some books and also talking to specialists. But that’s not the solution that applies to everyone. Everyone has to find what works for them.”

Panebianco shared the car in 2021 with Davide Dallara, who competed in the EuroNASCAR PRO championship. The EuroNASCAR 2 rookie finished in the top 5 twice and the top 10 six times, beating out his competition in the Rookie Trophy. In the end, he finished tenth overall and seven points ahead of his closest rival Leevi Lintukanto.
Panebianco has not yet signed a contract for the coming season, but he is certain that he will once again be competing for Not Only Motorsport. For this, the last details still have to be clarified in the winter. His goal is to become a title contender and win his first NWES race. As a reminder, the 2021 season was Panebianco’s first in racing and he has had no previous karting experience, so his performance should be ranked highly.
