New NASCAR home in Germany: NWES to start at Oschersleben in 2023

After a three-year break from Corona, EuroNASCAR returns to Germany in 2023 – With the Motorsport Arena Oschersleben selected as the venue a new track is added to the calendar
With the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series (NWWS) season still in full swing, next year is already casting its shadow. In 2023, EuroNASCAR will return to Germany after a three-year break. A new home has been found in the Motorsport Arena Oschersleben.
“NASCAR is back in Germany, and that’s fantastic news for all of us! There is a huge motorsport fan base in Germany and we are very excited to bring back NASCAR’s pure racing,” says EuroNASCAR boss Jerome Galpin.
But that’s not all, the NASCAR GP of Germany will be held at the circuit near Magdeburg for at least the next three years. “We are really proud to be a part of the EuroNASCAR championship in 2023. With the mixture of racing and event, we have the chance to create a great event in the middle of Germany,” says Motorsport Arena Oschersleben Managing Director Ralph Bohnhorst.
Oschersleben will be the third track that has hosted or will host a EuroNASCAR race. In the 2014 season, the series made its debut at the Nürburgring as part of the Truck World Championship. From 2017 to 2019, the series made a guest appearance at the Hockenheimring before the Corona pandemic caused an involuntary break and the event’s demise.
A date for the premiere of the NASCAR GP of Germany on the 3.696-kilometer track has not yet been announced. However, this will follow at the latest with the publication of the calendar for the 2023 season, so German fans will have to be a little patient.
