NASCAR Xfinity race at Indy: Loris Hezemans targets top-15 result

Loris Hezemans will compete for Reaume Brothers Racing in the NASCAR Xfinity Series next Saturday – On the road course of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway he aims for a top-15 result
“The goal of the weekend is to at least come back with a top-15 finish, by driving smart and applying my road course knowledge to the track,” said Loris Hezemans, who will contest his third race in the 2021 NASCAR Xfinity Series season next Saturday at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course. The Dutchman, who also leads the overall NASCAR Whelen Euro Series (NWES) standings, will pilot the #33 Reaume Brothers Chevrolet.
“I am very excited to be driving in my first road course race of the year in the 2021 NASCAR Xfinity Series season with Reaume Brothers Racing. The addition of practice together with the fact that my racing experience is mainly on road courses makes it a great event to look forward to,” said Hezemans.
So far in 2021, the Dutchman has competed in two oval races in an effort to earn a start in the 2022 NASCAR Cup Series. The race in Indianapolis is expected to be another step on the road to obtaining the necessary license. Hezemans finished 31st at Phoenix and was 27th at Pocono.

It won’t be Hezemans’ first race on a road course in the United States: In 2019, the 24-year-old made his Xfinity debut at Road America. Back then, he was running 16th in the final laps until a crash in front of him ruined a potential top-20 result. In Indianapolis, the Dutchman hopes to achieve his best result to date in NASCAR’s second division.
Hezemans will then travel back to Europe to compete in the NWES at Autodrom Most on August 28-29. In addition to Hezemans, Giorgio Maggi will also compete in Indianapolis. The Swiss will make his Xfinity debut with MBM Motorsports / Team Hezeberg. For the first time, two EuroNASCAR drivers will compete in a race in the USA at the same time.
