Marius Bert is preparing for the 2022 Autospeedway season – His 2l Hotrods car was prepared in winter for title defense

The 2022 Autospeedway season on the short-track ovals in the Netherlands is in the starting blocks. In the thick of it is 2l Hotrods champion Marius Bert, who will be competing in the touring car class in his Peugeot this season. The 26-year-old prepared the car in the winter for the mission of defending the title and recently presented it on social media.

The race driver from Bottrop is proud of “his beauty,” which should not only look good but also be successful in the 2022 season. The #747 car was a guarantee for victories last year, which is why Bert won both the national championship and the track championship in Ter Apel. Both trophies should be back in the Ruhr region at the end of 2022.

Bert has been a driver in the 2l Hotrods class since the 2018 season and has virtually been born with the will to win in Autospeedway. His father was already an oval racer and tried his hand at the National Hotrods, among other things. Bert plans to compete not only in the Netherlands in 2022, but also in Great Britain, the cradle of short oval racing. Ipswich and Aldershot are on his personal agenda.

As in 2019, the 26-year-old wants to qualify for the World Championship on the island, he reveals to ‘Leadlap.net’. In the UK there is tough competition and countless riders at the start of the 2l Hotrods, why drivers from the continent have to qualify for the most important race of the year.

The Ipswich circuit near London is one of Bert’s favorite tracks, as are Posterholt and Ter Apel in the Netherlands. “Due to their different track characteristics, these three courses are special in their own way,” says the Bottrop native in an interview with ‘Leadlap.net’. Bert is ready to face the challenges in 2022 and his working machine, the blue and yellow Peugeot, is ready for it.
