Alex Sedgwick will contest his EuroNASCAR home race at Brands Hatch for Academy Motorsport – The Briton will compete in a special livery by NBA 2K

Alex Sedgwick is back: The Briton will compete for Academy Motorsport in the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series (NWES) race at Brands Hatch next weekend. The 22-year-old is supported by NBA 2K, which is why he will take part in the two EuroNASCAR PRO races with a special livery.

The car that Sedgwick will drive is the #24 Chevrolet Camaro. The 24 was one of the most famous jersey numbers of Bryant, who participated in basketball games both with the Los Angeles Lakers and in his college days with this number. Sedgwick and NBA 2K have been working together since January: That’s when he competed in an ARCA test with the gaming company at Daytona International Speedway.

“I’m super excited to return to the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series with the support of NBA 2K for my home race, the American SpeedFest. This event is one of my favourites on the European motorsport calendar and it’s one you just can’t miss,” said Sedgwick, who has three top-5 and 10 top-10 results in 17 EuroNASCAR PRO races. At Brands Hatch he has one top-5 and two top-10 results on his account.

“It’s a real honour to carry the NBA 2K branding with the Lakers colours. My most recent race in the Euro Series at the end of 2019 was my best result to date with a win in class. This time I’ll be looking to fight for the overall win!“
