March 24, 2023: Ford Mustang GT3 tested in Sebring
At the test after the Super Sebring weekend, Ford showed the new Mustang GT3 to the public for the first time. The V8 monster not only looks good, but also sounds like it. So Ford CEO Jim Farley shared the video via Twitter and immediately made the first public appearance of the new Mustang a matter for the boss. Joey Hand piloted the U.S. sports car over the bumps of Sebring, the Ford boss said. The 44-year-old will drive in the GTE and GTLM programs of Chip Ganassi and Ford until 2019. He has also remained loyal to the Ford brand during his stints in the NASCAR Cup Series.

March 15, 2023: Proton wants to race at Road America
Proton is not planning to join the action with the Porsche 963 LMDh until the third-to-last race of the 2023 IMSA season, which means Christian Ried is also ruling out a debut for the team at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. He says the team from Germany intends to work intensively on the prototype and take a few days of testing before entering the the racing. This is what he says to ‘Sportscar365’. The delivery of Porsche’s customer cars takes place at the end of April. The JOTA and JDC-Miller teams are also connected to this delivery cycle. JOTA, however, will already make its debut with the 963 at the WEC round in Spa.
March 10, 2023: Severe penalty against Meyer Shank Racing
IMSA has imposed severe penalties following the manipulation of tire data by Meyer Shank’s team. Explicitly it concerns a team member, who is supposed to have carried out this manipulation mainly. This person was fired in a statement by Meyer Shank Racing. IMSA conducted an investigation and reviewed data on all GTP cars before issuing the penalties for the No. 60 car. The Acura team retains the race win, but Endurance Cup points and prize money are forfeited. The team will also be deducted 200 points. In addition, the Pataskala, Ohio (USA) team must pay a $50,000 fine and Meyer Shank is on probation until June 30, 2023. Team engineer Ryan McCarthy is banned indefinitely from all IMSA events.
