December 30, 2022: Andretti purchased WTR shares

Wayne Taylor Racing has found a partner for its LMDh project in the IMSA Series’ GTP category: Andretti Autosport. Andretti has bought shares in the prototype team and will run an Acura ARX-06 together with WTR in the 2023 season. The drivers are Filipe Albuquerque, Louis Deletraz and Brendon Hartley.

December 22, 2022: Porsche announced the drivers for the IMSA season

Porsche has announced the driver lineup for the 2023 IMSA season. In the No. 6 car, Mathieu Jaminet and returnee Nick Tandy will be chasing points as regular drivers, with Dane Cameron starting as the team’s third driver at the 24 Hours of Daytona. The No. 7 car will be shared by Matt Campbell and former Formula 1 driver Felipe Nasr. At Daytona, the duo will be supported by Michael Christensen. December 12, 2022: IndyCar stars set for LMP2 start in Daytona

Three IndyCar stars have entered the LMP2 category for the 24 Hours of Daytona. Penske drivers Scott McLaughlin, who will contest the race for the first time, and Josef Newgarden will share the Tower LMP2 with John Farano and Kyffin Simpson. Rinus Veekay will compete for TDS Racing and fight for victory together with Scott Huffaker, Mikkel Jensen and Steven Thomas. In the GTD classification, Formula 1 driver Kevin Magnussen will start together with his father Jan Magnussen.

December 6, 2022: Lamborghini signed Romain Grosjean

Lamborghini has found an important piece of the puzzle for its LMDh program with Iron Lynx from the 2024 season: Former Formula 1 and current IndyCar driver Romain Grosjean will be a factory driver for the Italian outfit, which already has Mirko Bortolotti and Andrea Caldarelli under contract. December 3, 2022: IMSA scraps qualifying race for Daytona

After two years, it’s over: IMSA will no longer hold a qualifying race ahead of the Daytona 24 Hours, which will kick off the season in 2023, and will revert to the old format.
