Alberto Naska is one of the most successful YouTubers in Italy – Now the Italian takes on the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series together with CAAL Racing

Alberto Naska has a huge fan base: on YouTube alone, 720,000 people follow the Italian, whose real name is Alberto Fontana – his English-language channel also has over 130,000 followers. Naska, which closest means “the nose” when translated from Italian, will compete in the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series (NWES) in 2022 and has already shown at the season opener in Valencia that he can not only produce videos but also drive a EuroNASCAR car fast.

Naska competes with CAAL Racing in the EuroNASCAR 2 championship and shares the car with NWES veteran Max Lanza, who is pleased with the collaboration and the shared task of creating a good setup for the Chevrolet Camaro. Both Italians performed well in the Valencia opener, which really sparked anticipation for the rest of the 2022 season.

Naska led the standings for a long time in qualifying until Vladimiros Tzortzis relegated him to second. Tziortzis versus Naska was also to be the defining duel of the race weekend. In the first race, Tziortzis simply outpaced his rival at the front. Naska nevertheless put in a strong performance as a rookie, finishing the race in second place and securing victory in the Rookie Trophy.

In the second race, the Italian even passed the Cypriot and led a total of four laps in the race before Tziortzis counterattacked. Naska lost first place and again crossed the finish line in second place. However, the race was to be decided at a desk as an infringement was found on Tziortzis’ car, which dropped the Academy driver back to eleventh place.

The sensation was perfect, even though there was no extensive celebration on the podium due to the retrospective decision on the part of the race control. Naska won his first NASCAR race – it couldn’t be more fitting. The YouTuber started out racing motorcycles in his career, but then focused on auto racing. Since then, the content creator has been on the road at many race tracks.

But EuroNASCAR is something very special for Naska. For the first time, the 31-year-old is competing full-time in an international championship. For the first time, Naska will be fighting for titles – both in the overall standings and in the Rookie Trophy. In CAAL Racing, the Italian has found a team that has already won all the major titles in the world of NWES – with the exception of the Rookie Trophy, which could finally find its way into the Canneori family’s trophy rack in 2022.

Naska has already attracted thousands of his fans to the screens during the first race weekend, who followed the YouTuber’s races with fascination. They dominated the live chat and also the comment sections on social media. This is surely just a taste of what will happen when Naska competes in his home race in Vallelunga in July …
