Hendriks Motorsport: “In 2021 we want to win all three major NWES titles!”

Hendriks Motorsport is preparing for the 2021 season – The Dutchmen have the EuroNASCAR championship in focus, but also want to push ahead with other projects
In three years, Hendriks Motorsport from the Netherlands has become a real top team in the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series (NWES). The organisation led by Roy and Joep Hendriks won the 2019 NWES title, the Junior Trophy with Loris Hezemans and also the team championship. In 2020 they added the EuroNASCAR 2 title, the Rookie Trophy and another win in the team championship.
Team boss Roy Hendriks is accordingly happy about the team’s development in EuroNASCAR. He told ‘Leadlap.net’: “2020 was the best year for us so far. We won 12 out of 20 races and were also on pole position 12 times. All our cars got to turn into Victory Lane. That shows how consistent we are.”
Although Hezemans was unable to defend his EuroNASCAR PRO title, Hendriks believes the racing team has taken another step forward, even though the 2020 season was not an easy one due to the pandemic. Hendriks said: “It was still a good season for us. I thank the entire NWES organization for making this season possible during the pandemic.”
Goal: winning the triple

Based on the successes, Hendriks is hungry for more. After Hezemans’ championship win in 2019, Vittorio Ghirelli secured the EuroNASCAR 2 title in 2020. The racing team also finished first and second in the team standings. Tobias Dauenhauer (2020 Rookie Trophy winner), Giorgio Maggi and Martin Doubek also demonstrated their talents with good performances.
That’s why the triple is to follow in 2021: “For me, 2021 is the NWES season in which we will win all three major titles. That’s our goal and that’s what we’re working on. The competition is strong, but I believe we can do it. We just need a little more luck than last year.”
For that the Hendriks family is currently working on a powerful driver line-up. Roy Hendriks said: “If everything goes well, we’ll have some really strong drivers in our ranks this year.” They should then bring the EuroNASCAR PRO, EuroNASCAR 2 and team title to Maasbree.
Further projects planned

Hendriks Motorsports has its roots in Autospeedway and the V8 Oval Series. Roy and Joep Hendriks have both been actively racing on ovals in the Netherlands for years, and accordingly the team will also be active in the V8 Oval Series at Raceway Venray.
“Should races be held in 2021, we will support cars of customers in the V8 Oval Series,” said Roy Hendriks. “That is not sure yet.” Furthermore, the team is building up some race and classic cars for customers. So during the winter break, the Dutch team will have its hands full with various projects.

The organisation also owns a Dodge Challenger that can be entered in GT races. “This car will be raced in various classes in the Benelux, but we have to wait until the races in which we can participate with the car have been organized,” Hendriks told.
