EuroNASCAR in Grobnik: Justin Kunz in Croatia on the Junior Trophy podium

Justin Kunz convinced with good performances at the races of the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series in Grobnik – But the German wants even more
The first visit of the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series (NWES) in Grobnik, Croatia, was a big success. It is therefore not surprising that the race will be part of the series’ calendar next year. (Click here for the video about the NWES calendar 2021 on YouTube)
That might be pleased also Justin Kunz (DF1-Racing), who impressed with his performances at Automotodrom Grobnik. “On that weekend, everything worked fine and all the gears meshed perfectly,” explained the German.
On Saturday, Kunz scored a solid top 10 result with eighth place in the EuroNASCAR PRO championship. In the second race on Sunday, the DF1 driver started the race from tenth place and worked his way up to sixth place. The racing driver from Appenweier also secured his first Junior Trophy podium in the current season.
“I really had a lot of fun in Grobnik. We also scored solid results, but of course I always want more,” said Kunz. At the season finale of the NWES in Valencia, the German wants to build on his good performances.
In the Spanish port city, the NWES will have its first double header at the end of the season. The NASCAR GP of Spain will start on December 3-4, before the EuroNASCAR Finals at Circuit Ricardo Tormo follow on December 5-6.
For Kunz, the remaining four races are still very important. After the race in Croatia, the German lies in fourth place in the Junior Trophy. In this special classification he is only four points behind Giorgio Maggi. In the overall standings, the 23-year-old can still advance to the top 10. So a total of eight exciting races – four per championship – are expected under the Spanish sun.
