EuroNASCAR 2022: The Club Motorsport counts on Riccardo Romagnoli

The Club Motorsports has signed Riccardo Romagnoli for the 2022 NWES season – The 59-year-old Italian has not yet decided on a EuroNASCAR championship
The Club Motorsports has announced another driver for the 2022 NASCAR Whelen Euro Series (NWES). The Italians are putting their car in the hands of 59-year-old Riccardo Romagnoli. The Italian looks back on a 42-year motorsport career and therefore brings a lot of experience to EuroNASCAR. However, it has not yet been decided in which category he will start.
From TCR to GT cars: Romagnoli has already driven many different race cars in his career. Therefore, it should not be a big hurdle for the Italian to get used to the 400 horsepower EuroNASCAR cars. The Rome native is already ready to take on the new challenge and is already working on preparations for the 2022 season, which starts May 14 and 15 in Valencia, Spain.
“I want to gain experience on the car because I think we have to put plenty of miles under our belt to be able to use all the potential,” says Romagnoli. “We are testing to learn more and more about the car and its reactions and we hope to be in the first half of the field in Spain.”
“The NWES is a very competitive championship and the level is very high. Drivers with lots of experience have an advantage and I hope to be able to reach the front runners’ performances soon,” he adds. “It will be fundamental to have plenty of seat time and experience.”
Team principal and EuroNASCAR driver Fabrizio Armetta says: “In the first couple of test days Riccardo already showed he has a high potential and quickly improved his feeling with the car. I’m really happy to have him with us, he’s a very consistent driver with a lot of competitive experience. I’m sure he’ll love the EuroNASCAR races and he will earn very good results on track.”
