Despite a collision in turn 1: Alon Day with incredible comeback

In the first EuroNASCAR PRO race, Alon Day started from pole – After an early accident, the Israeli had to prove his comeback qualities
The weekend could hardly have started better for Alon Day. Right from the start, the Israeli was the fastest man on the Autodrom Most and consequently also secured pole position for the first EuroNASCAR PRO race. However, he was unable to convert this into a victory.
The reason: Shortly after the start, he made contact with Martin Doubek, which ended in a spin for Day. There was chaos in the field, ending in a safety car period. The Israeli dropped back to 19th place as a result of the accident that left him with a badly damaged car. Doubek, meanwhile, received a drive-through penalty from race control for an avoidable collision.
In the post-race interview with ‘Leadlap.net’, the PK Carsport driver was really annoyed by the behavior of his competitors: “It was a shitty race. Honestly, it’s a joke. Some drivers drive in EuroNASCAR PRO, but they’re not even deserve to be on the grid.”
But Day didn’t let that setback stop him and fought his way back to the front. In the process, another use of the safety car period played into his favor. In the end, the Israeli even battled with Gianmarco Ercoli for third place. In this close duel, however, the Italian retained the upper hand while Day missed out on the podium.
Sebastiaan Bleekemolen secured victory ahead of Alexander Graff. Thanks to the fastest race lap, Day also started from pole position in the second race on Sunday. With another solid result, the PK Carsport driver gained important points in the championship battle.
