Deodhar searches for NWES cockpit: Want to have chances for winning the title

After a strong rookie season in the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series, Advait Deodhar wants to attack again in 2020 – The Indian haven’t found a cockpit yet

He was the exotic in a strong rookie class in 2019: Advait Deodhar. After a convincing 2018 Club Challenge season, the Indian racer competed in the Elite 2 division last year. Initially the rookie started for the Austrian racing squad Df-1-Racing, but had to change the cockpit several times during the season before he found a new home at CAAL Racing.

Despite it all, the fast Indian showed consistently good performances throughout the season and finished fourth in the drivers’ championship. In twelve races – he missed the Venray round and crossed out the result – he scored four top-5 finishes. He ended up second in Brands Hatch and grabbed his fist EuroNASCAR 2 podium finish in his career.

In 2020 Deodhar wants to attack again and he has set himself an ambitious target: „I’m coming back and aiming for the title,“ Deodhar told ‘Leadlap.net’ The Indian does not yet know with which team he wants to fight for the championship: „I’m planning to come back with CAAL Racing again this year, but no contact has been signed yet. I hope I can share some news soon.“

In addition of starting in the second EuroNASCAR championship, Deodhar also wants to compete in some races in the EuroNASCAR PRO Division. „I’m not sure if it works in the PRO series next year, all depends on budget.“ Deodhar is now looking forward to starting the season at Brands Hatch on June 6-7. The scheduled season opener in Valencia has been postponed due to the corona crisis.
