Deal off: Solaris Motorsport and Loibnegger part ways amicably

Solaris Motorsport and Alina Loibnegger go their separate ways with immediate effect – The planned deal for the 2022 NWES season was canceled
Only recently, Alina Loibnegger had announced in a video interview with ‘Leadlap.de’ that she planned to drive for Solaris Motorsport in the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series (NWES) next season. Now the deal between the Austrian and the Italian team has been canceled. The racing team and the driver parted ways amicably.
The reason for the end of the cooperation is financial. Questioned by ‘Leadlap.net’ the team issued the following statement: “Solaris Motorsport wishes Alina all the best for her sporting future. She joined the Solaris family a year ago and we have had a very positive season in which Alina has improved from race to race and fought for the Lady Trophy until the last race.”
“Unfortunately, due to budgetary reasons, we are not able to extend the partnership, but we very much hope that our paths will cross again in the future,” Solaris Motorsport’s response continued: “All the best, Alina!” The Austrian told ‘Leadlap.net’: “By mutual agreement, we refrain from working together in the 2022 season due to changes in the general conditions.”
There doesn’t seem to be any bad blood between the Italians and the Austrian, who celebrated her NWES debut in the EuroNASCAR 2 championship in 2021. Loibnegger impressed in her first season with strong performances and seven wins in the Lady Trophy, where she was in contention with experienced NWES driver Arianna Casoli for the title. The latter ultimately won the trophy with a 21-point lead over Loibnegger.
It is not yet known where the Austrian will be heading in 2022. The NWES season starts on April 9 and 10 at the Hockenheimring. The calendar consists of a total of six races in Germany, Spain, Great Britain, the Czech Republic, Belgium and Croatia. In addition, there will be an All Star Race in Vallelunga, Italy, and a special EuroNASCAR race on an ice track.
