Arianna Casoli secured the best result of her career with eleventh place in the overall EuroNASCAR 2 standings – At Circuit Zolder, the Legend Trophy winner even finished in fifth place

The 2020 NASCAR Whelen Euro Series (NWES) will remain in Arianna Casoli’s memory for a long time. The Italian impressed with solid performances and set several personal records. With eleventh place overall, she secured the best result of her EuroNASCAR 2 career. At Circuit Zolder, she landed her best race result with a fifth-place finish. Her reward: victory in the Legend Trophy.

The race at Circuit Zolder marked the high point for the race car driver from Reggio Emilia. On a drying track, Casoli stayed out of chaos to push towards the top 5 in her CAAL Racing Chevrolet. When the race finished behind the safety car, she was in fifth place – the best race result of her career.

There were also setbacks in the difficult 2020 season: An accident during qualifying at the Automotodrom Grobnik in Croatia, forcing her to skip the first race at the race track near Rijeka. The immense damage meant her participation at Super Speedweek in Valencia, Spain, was on the line, but Casoli made it back to the grid “with the support of CAAL Racing and EuroNASCAR”.

At Circuit Ricardo Tormo, the Italian continued her solid performance to take the overall win in the Legend Trophy for drivers over 40. It was the first time she has won the special classification. In the Lady Trophy, Casoli finished second behind Julia Landauer. “It was my goal from the beginning to win the Legend Trophy,” Casoli told ‘Leadlap.de’. The entire interview with the Italian is available on the YouTube channel of ‘Leadlap.de’.
