Bachor Racingteam competes with Kristoffer Norling from Sweden in the V8 Oval Series

Bachor Racingteam has found a full-time driver for the 2023 V8 Oval Series season at Raceway Venray – Kristoffer Norling from Sweden will start for the racing team
The Bachor Racingteam Chevrolet Camaro has been leased for the entire V8 Oval Series (V8OS) at Raceway Venray. The driver is Kristoffer Norling, who will pilot the number 69 car. The Swede already has V8 experience, but the 0.5-mile oval with up to 25 degrees of banking in the Netherlands is new territory for him.
The now 18-year-old started motorsport at an early age. At the age of six he started in karting, and at 13 he switched to the Renault Clio Cup. He discovered his love of oval racing in 2012 when he attended the Daytona 500 in Florida with his family. Since then, the Swede has been infected with the NASCAR virus.
His other career stations fit seamlessly into those of a stock car driver: In addition to drift racing on ice, Norling contested rounds in the Legends Cars championship and even got a taste of EuroNASCAR air in 2021: He competed in Club Challenge, the regularity test of the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series, and turned a few laps in a V8 stock car on a circuit.
In 2022, Norling raced in the V8 Thunder Cars Series and gained experience behind the wheel of a bona fide Trans Am car. Making his debut on an oval has always been one of his biggest desires, so Norling became aware of the V8OS on the Internet. After watching a few videos, it was clear to the youngster: “I have to do this!” Contact was made via Jens Müller, crew chief of the Bachor Racing Team.
“It has always been my dream to drive an oval race in the USA. I was at Daytona in 2012 and was immediately infected by the NASCAR virus,” says Norling, who will compete with regular driver Philipp Bachor (#21 car) for points. “I saw some videos of the V8 Oval Series on the Internet and thought it would be fun to get my first oval experience in Europe. “
He continues: “My expectation is to find the rhythm and pace quickly. It will be very different on the oval than on the road course, but it will certainly be a lot of fun. It will be difficult because I’ve never driven on the oval before. I’m really looking forward to it and I’m fired up for the test day.” The first test will take place on Saturday, April 1, before the championship kicks off the new season at Raceway Venray on April 10 – Easter Monday.
