Austrian Viktor Schiffer on EuroNASCAR debut: “It was a lot of fun”

The 2022 EuroNASCAR season came to an end with the races at the Automotodrom Grobnik – In Club Challenge there was once again a new face with Viktor Schiffer
The NASCAR Whelen Euro Series (NWES) once again delivered a close and exciting season in 2022. As usual, the titles were decided in the final meters. This does not go unnoticed by many young talents who want to take the next step in their careers and choose the NWES for their next step. This was also the case for Viktor Schiffer from Austria, who made his debut for Double V Racing in the Club Challenge at the Automotodrom Most.
“It was mega fun, the team was just awesome, they were so kind,” says Schiffer in an interview with ‘Leadlap.net’. At the beginning, the Austrian struggled with slight problems: “In the third session I had more free space and that’s when I was able to show what I ca do, it felt better already.”
He ended up fifth in his debut in the NWES’ regularity based challenge. Schiffer also tasted blood during his EuroNASCAR debut and hopes that “it will continue next year.” He likes the series, however, the youngster also has a wish for the future: “There could be more races, maybe more near me, so I don’t have to drive so far.”
At least in 2023, the wish will not come true, because the calendar is already fixed. For the first time in NASCAR history, races will then be held on snow and ice. The All-Star race in Finland will take place before the actual season opener in Spain. Germany will also host EuroNASCAR again, after a total of three cancellations due to the coronavirus pandemic. Oschersleben will make its debut on the NWES calendar.
