In Valencia, Spain, Alina Loibnegger from Austria made her EuroNASCAR 2 debut together with Solaris Motorsport – She immediately put up a fight for victory in the Lady Trophy

Alina Loibnegger knows the V8 cars of the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series (NWES) like the back of her hand due to her participation in the 2019 Club Challenge – the regularity test. In May, the Austrian made her real racing debut in the EuroNASCAR 2 championship, in which she is racing for Solaris Motorsport from Italy in 2021.

The complete interview with Alina Loibnegger is available here on YouTube (in German)!

While she gained important experience in the first race and secured a solid 16th place in a field of 23 cars, she really let her #12 Chevrolet Camaro fly in the second race. Over numerous laps, she went bumper-to-bumper with NWES veteran Arianna Casoli for the Lady Trophy win. Although Loibnegger came up just short in her second EuroNASCAR 2 race, she was visibly pleased.

“It was really tough and a really great as well as fair fight,” Loibnegger told ‘LeadlapTV on YouTube‘ after her first two races in the NWES championship for young talent and gentleman drivers. “It was really exhausting because I was involved in a two-way and even three-way battle the whole race. But that’s exactly why I learned a lot in the first weekend.”

“I had my first contacts with the car, something that was completely new for me,” the Solaris racer continued. “I think I can build on that really well.” While Casoli finished 18th, Loibnegger secured 19th place behind the Italian, just 0.383 seconds behind. She shares 19th place overall with Didier Bec and Eric Quintal after two races.

Her second NWES race weekend will take place on July 3-4 at the Indy-Circuit of Brands Hatch in Great Britain. The rather short track is considered to be technically very demanding and difficult. The Austrian, who is determined to win the 2021 Lady Trophy, is already looking forward to her next challenge at the wheel of the #12 Solaris Motorsport car.
