Two days of racing have been run in the Dutch National Hotrods Championship so far in 2023 – Reimon Bos leads the overall standings

Reimon Bos is the measure of all things in the Dutch Championship of the National Hotrods after two days of racing. The Dutchman clearly leads the overall standings after the rounds at Circuit de Polderputten and Raceway Venray. The season opener took place on Easter Sunday in Ter Apel, where Bos had a perfect race day. In Venray, he impressed with consistent results on Easter Monday.

Eleven drivers competed at the Paperclip of Ter Apel on April 9, and Bos won all three races on the big oval. In the first heat he beat champion Jeffrey Roeffen by 1.041 seconds, and in the second heat he won ahead of John van den Bosch, who crossed the finish line about two seconds behind the Opel Tigra.

In the final, Bos again beat Roeffen, but this time the two Dutchmen had a real head-to-head duel. When they crossed the finish line, the two were separated by just 0.860 seconds. As a result, Bos traveled overnight as the leader of the standings to Venray Raceway, where the second round of the 2023 season was scheduled.

In contrast to Ter Apel, Bos faced more challenges on the much rounder track near Venlo. While Erik Roeffen won the first heat and Jeffrey Roeffen finished second, Bos had to settle for fourth place. Two third places in the second heat and in the final brought the Dutchman third place in the day’s standings – behind Erik and Jeffrey Roeffen.

Bos now has 102 points after the first two race days of the season, followed by van den Bosch with 95 points. This means that only seven points separate the two at the top. Third is Jeffrey Roeffen, who has collected 89 points so far. Pieter van Logten and Erik Roeffen complete the top-5 behind the top trio. The third round will take place on April 23, 2023, at the third oval on the calendar. Then the National Hotrods will make their visit at the JaBa Circuit in Posterholt.

Bos also leads the NHRRG Cup, although only one race day has been held in this classification. Thanks to his three wins in Ter Apel, Bos leads the Cup with 55 points ahead of van den Bosch with 49 points and Merlin Beganovic with 44 points. Van Logten and Jeroen Kurvers complete the top-5. The next NHRRG Cup race will take place on May 14 in Posterholt.
