Gil Linster will return to CAAL Racing next season to compete in the EuroNASCAR 2 championship

Gil Linster will race again in the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series (NWES) full-time in 2022. In doing so, the Luxembourg native will return to his roots and join CAAL Racing. Linster and CAAL Racing already competed together in 2017 and 2018, before the Luxembourger focused on projects in the United States during 2019 and 2020. After his part-time comeback with DF1 Racing in the 2021 season, the 28-year-old is now looking to hit the ground running in the EuroNASCAR 2 championship.

“With CAAL Racing again we found a great deal for both sides”, Linster said. “It’s all about beating the Hendriks Motorsport guys, who are incredibly fast, but CAAL Racing has what it takes to be successful. I want to be a regular inside the top-5 and become a title contender.”

“During the winter I will keep improving my Italian”

Linster, who already has an experience of 29 NWES races to his name, knows that for a successful collaboration, there is also the language hurdle to overcome: “During the winter I will keep improving my Italian to be able to communicate with the team in a proper way.”

Their two years together in 2017 and 2018 proved that the collaboration between team and driver can be successful, with Linster finishing fifth in the overall EuroNASCAR 2 standings in 2018 and scoring five top-five results across the two seasons.

The Frisange-born driver has time to hone his Italian skills until the beginning of April. After a two-year absence from the racing calendar, EuroNASCAR will start the new season on 9 and 10 April in Hockenheim.
