The 2021 EuroNASCAR season opener in Valencia will not take place in April 2021 as planned – The event has been postponed to May – The race in Italy is not scheduled to be held until the fall
The coronavirus pandemic continues to have Europe firmly in its grip, which is why the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series (NWES) has to adopt its calendar two months before the scheduled season opener in Valencia, Spain. The first race of the 2021 season will not take place in April as planned, but only on May 15-16.
The race at Circuit Ricardo Tormo will therefore take the slot of the NASCAR Grand Prix of Italy, which in turn will not be held until fall 2021. The new date of the race at the Autodromo di Vallelunga is not yet known. The NWES hopes that due to the postponement fans will be allowed back at the track.
“We are continuously monitoring the situation in Europe and are fully engaged to take the best decisions for our fans, partners and competitors,” said NWES President CEO Jerome Galpin.
“We all hope the situation will get better in the coming months and think that pushing the EuroNASCAR season opener a few weeks later can allow us to welcome fans at the racetracks and offer to everyone involved a great American Show in the pure tradition of the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series. We look forward to seeing you soon, Pure Racing fans!”
