2018 NASCAR Truck Series Champion Brett Moffitt will make his ENES debut in Watkins Glen today – More than 70 drivers have signed up for the race

The second round of the EuroNASCAR Esports Series (ENES) will take place today, Tuesday at 8 pm. The series will welcome a true NASCAR star: Brett Moffitt, the 2018 NASCAR Gander & RV Outdoors Truck Series champion, will race at the virtual Watkins Glen International. Over 70 drivers have registered for the event, but there are only 60 free spots on the grid.

Moffitt has been involved in the NASCAR Truck Series since 2013 and won the title in his first full-time season in 2018 and finished third the following year. In the series so far he has 61 starts, eleven victories and 29 top-5 results under his belt. Moffitt has also gained experience in the NASCAR Xfinity Series: In seven races so far, he scored one top-10 result.

In the NASCAR Cup Series Moffitt has 45 starts and one top 10 result in the books. He drove his last race in the NASCAR upper house in 2017 at the Kansas Speedway for BK Racing. In the 2020 season, he will again focus on the Truck Series, where he races for GMS Racing. In Daytona and Las Vegas he finished 13th and 16th.

Moffitt has no experience in the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series (NWES), but he will certainly be one of the drivers to beat. In 2017 he competed in a NASCAR Cup race at Watkins Glen, finishing in 32nd place. In 2018 he won the ARCA Series East race on the famous track. In total, Moffitt comes up with three real-world NASCAR-level races on the New York State road course.

The virtual race of the ENES will be broadcasted live on the Leadlap.de / Leadlap.net Facebook page today, Tuesday, starting at 8pm. NWES commentator Mark Werrell and also Leadlap.de founder André Wiegold await the fans at the microphones. The stream will be offered in English.
